I'd be curious to know what movies become cinematic classics, and which are completely forgotten

        My favorite books
In the event that society does away with actual paper-and-ink books in favor of, oh I don't know...some electronic device that beams information directly into our brains or something in the future, it would be kind be kind of fun to have someone pick up a hardcover novel and revel in the nostalgia.

        iPod
Music is one of the most telling indicators of a generation's atmosphere, so I would try to include as many examples as possible. (And of course all of the songs I listened to on repeat and loved dearly.)

        Currency
I'd put both a little paper money and coin in a time capsule so that future generations can see what currency looked like before plastic cards and magnetic strips.

        An awesome pair of shoes
Because vintage fashion is hot. :)

    • Books got me into trouble
      • Girl reading by window book

Reading. Sounds totally innocent, right? But I was constantly reading as a kid, and much preferred it to doing my chores, which didn't please my mother too much.

If sent to clean my room, I would inevitably get distracted by my favorite care-worn paperbacks sitting atop my dresser. An hour later my bed would still be unmade, but I'd be happily halfway through with my book. :)

    • My preferred writing medium
      • 2008.11.12 - The letter

Depends on what I'm writing. Papers, e-mails and that sort of thing? Definitely keyboard. It's efficient, it's always legible, it's easy to save.
That said, nothing beats the romance of old-fashioned, hand-written letters and notes on whatever paper you had lying around at the time. It's always like finding buried treasure when you happen upon a friend's letter that you had stuffed in a pocket or drawer years ago and had forgotten about. Reading it again, touching the same paper they touched and wrote their thoughts down on really takes you back to that moment in time - a tangible reminder of good memories.
