- My Must-Sing-Aloud Songs
-
Songs that I always sing the lyrics out loud!!
I sing lots of song out aloud, which I think is the main reason why I everybody at home doesn't like any of them.
if I am at home & not sleeping, it means my PC is on & some song is playing. In fact, the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to play a song. Some of my favorites are:
Just A Dream
Airplanes
Nothin On You
Life Is A Rollercoaster
Forever
Tik Tok
Replay - Iyaz
Extreme Ways - Moby
You Give Love a Bad Name
OMG - Usher
California Gurls
Ain't Gonna Stop - James Otto

- An Album I'll Always Love

If I had to listen to one album for the rest of my life, it will be "BRYAN ADAMS THE BEST OF ME" . I have been listening to this album since my 10th class & never got bored of it.
The album has songs from rock to slow, romantic to pop & all what you can think of. One thing that I really admire about Bryan Adams is that his style is timeless. In the age of rap music he may not be on the top charts today but the songs he sung in his top years, clearly shows the depth & his dedication towards his passion.
Take for example the cheap nostalgia of "Summer of 69" or the romanticism of "The Best of Me" & "Please Forgive Me". The seductive "Lets Make a Night" & "Have you Ever Really Loved a Woman".
The sincerity of a determined lover is seen in "I'm Ready" & "All For Love". "Cloud Number Nine" which is a timeless example of how music can take you to Cloud number Nine.
This collection is Adams's rise from a contender in '80s to a superstar in '90s to his Grammy- and Oscar-winning hit "Everything I do" from Robin Hood.

- How I'm Liking 2011 So Far
-
2011 has been an awesome year for me. I got selected in my dream company i.e THE INDIAN NAVY on 31st Dec 2010. I came home on 6th after completing my medical exam & to my surprise my cousin who himself is in Navy booked our tickets to visit Vizag with him. In the 10 day tour I visited Vizag, saw a ship and a submarine from inside. I found everything so fascinating & better than I have expected. Ships look so advanced from inside just like we see in hollywood movies.
When I came back to Jaipur I made a resolution for the year 2011 that I will be running every morning atleast for 30min. I bought new shoes & a tracksuit for it. I followed it for just 2 days & now I can't follow it coz its so hard to wake up early morning in cold. I will soon start it again as the temperature goes up.
The first month of 2011 is over today & so far it has been uber cool. I am hoping this year is going to be full of new experiences. All of my friends have been placed except one & some of my friends are giving GD/PI of colleges to get admission for MBA. All the best to them & I hope this year is full of happiness for them.

- I Read this Book & it Changed My Life

Be positive Think positive - by Mridula Agarwal.
I got this book as a gift from FIITJEE when my bro cleared IIT-JEE. The title of this book seems pretty boring but it really is a jewel. I used to think I know positive thinking is thinking positive all the time which is the stupidest thing one could really think. Actually positive thinking is very different from just plainly thinking positive in any situation.
First of all this book changed me by telling me what actually is +ve thinking. Positive thinking is very often thought to be the ability to focus on what is right & ignoring what is wrong or unpleasant. It is also misunderstood to be the ability to deny an unpleasant reality ot failure. I am often told that just force yourself to believe that every thing is fine & it will be fine. Ignore your faults & faults of others and be happy.
But this is not what +ve thinking all about. Positive thinking does not tell us to close our eyes to reality & stay where we are, resign to fate & not strive for more or better. It actually gives us the strength to face our reality, however difficult it may be with confidence & courage. It gives us power to face any situation, analyse it, understand its strengths & weaknesses, fins solutions, work on them & be happy with the outcome & make most of it.
I once tried to tell the same thing to the class regarding placements, and I was highly criticized by a few guys. Its just a simple thing, if you are not upto the mark, the first thing to do is know that you are not upto the mark. Face this reality & start working towards the solution. It would be the dumbest solution to think there are still so many companies who are coming for them.
Sun Tzu has rightly said:
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.
If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Moral : Know your strengths & weaknesses. Work hard & improve.
