- I Can't Help It: My Celeb Crush is Pharrell
-
Pharrell Williams:
I hear people left and right nowadays talking about this thin called "swagger". Some could more easily define it as confidence while others could identify it as humility. I'm not quite sure how it could be defined but when I see this man, he has it dripping all off of him. Of course I envy the unnecessary female extras in the N.E.R.D. videos that let him use they t-shirts as a sweatband....
He seems carefree. Fun. Chill. An admirer of good music and art. And then I'm reminded that in order for a crush to exist, the crushee must forever remain oblivious to the crusher.
But ch'yeah.....I'm sure I'd one night a regret with him :-)

- Best Compliment I've Gotten In a While

.....it was an amazing nanosecond indeed
Carolyn Malachi, someone who I've talked about frequently and had the pleasure of photographing, performed in Baltimore on Friday night. As always she was stunning, amazing, and efficient at her craft. She truly is a jazz phenom and diva at its best. When most artists reach a certain level of fame or grandeur, I don't typically expect them to remember who I am or what it is that I do.
Before leaving on Friday however, she came up to me and gave me the biggest hug and she said, "Quill you are one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen. . . . too bad you don't play for my team."
For a nanosecond, I went hetero. But it was an amazing nanosecond indeed.

- What I'd Do With a Million Dollars
-
I still have $176,450 to buy groceries, dine, and furnish my apartment with. Wow.
I've thought about this over and over and over and over again and no matter what my response is, I still can't go through it all. Which I guess is a good thing lol. Here's my breakdown of what i'd do with a million dollars in order of amount:
$500,000: I'd put into either savings, investment, money market, or some type of financial institution for good keeping. To remain untouched and unacknowledged.
$100,000: Tithe - my 10% would go to my home church. I'm sure at this point, despite humility & morals and whatever - they would love the fact that I'm a member.
$100,000: I'm actually not sure what school I'd go to but I know I'd want my tuition, fees, and books to be paid in full.
$33,000: Audi A4 Sedan. I'd upgrade from my 2000 Ford Focus.
$30,000: I'd have to take care of my family. My mother and two brothers would each get $10,000.
$19,200: The average "Rent" on a loft in downtown Baltimore (a good one) is probably about $1600 so this 19,200 would take care of at least one year worth of rent. I wouldn't quit working a 9-5 so I would still be able to work at least a part time job (if not work out of my own studio) and bring in additional income to take care of year 2-4 at the apartment.
$18,000 (according to Travelocity): A two week vacation in Sydney, Australia. Oh yes. I want to stay in a beautiful hotel, meet beautiful people, have beautiful food, go to beautiful clubs, get lost, view views, see scenes, take pictures, create new memories I've never dreamed of.
$10,000: I'd give $1,000 to 10 various charities or would it be $2,000 to 5 charities or $500 to 20 different charities - YOU GET THE POINT. Basically I'd be charitable.
$5,100: iMac. I hate that I still don't have one. This particular Mac would have the following specs: 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4x4GB. 2TB Serial ATA Drive + 256GB Solid State Drive, 8x double-layer SuperDrive, ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 SDRAM, Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) & User's Guide, Magic Mouse + Magic Trackpad, Apple Remote, iWork preinstalled, Aperture preinstalled, Microsoft Office Mac 2011 - Home and Student Edition, AppleCare Protection Plan for iMac - Auto-enroll, HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer (C410a)
$2,850: For Studio Equipment. If my loft is as nice as I imagine it to be, I should be able to set up my lighting, backdrop, etc, right in my own home. A new camera and alienbees lighting package would come to about $2800 according to CanonUSA & AlienBees websites.
$2400: Assuming my gas & electric at my beautiful loft apartment would run about 200 a month on average, this would take care of the utilities cost.
$1200: This would take care of my phone bill.
$1000: Clothes, glasses, fashion stuff.
$800: I'm getting my maw'fucking iPad.
I still have $176,450 to buy groceries, dine, and furnish my apartment with. Wow.

- My Favorite Word
-
If spin is entered inadvertently...
I love the word inadvertently. I have no idea why. Inadvertently and Extemporaneous are two words that I learned when I first left middle school and I fell in love with how many syllables were in them. Their definitions were easy and relatable and since then, i use those words in almost everything.

- The Morning So Far
-
Zyrtec can't compare to "Behind the Wheel" benadryl.
Breathing out of one nostril and struggling with the other - he threw himself from the bed. The shower was business as usual - he never thinks to make it hotter until he's about to step out. Nose still throwing hissy fits. That's when he started his 15-minute interval rule. 15 minutes to shower, 15 minutes to prepare clothes, 15 minutes to dress and get out.
Didn't get a chance to kiss his partner good bye. It was a morning ritual that was only missed 3 times during the 2 years they lived together. 2 of those instnaces was during a "break up". Grabbed the trash and jetted to his car. I think he was really excited about driving his car because of how clean she looked after the car wash. The tires still shined, the windshield still lacked the bird poo, and there was just something different about being in a clean car.
He stopped by Burger King, checked in on Foursquare and became mayor of said Burger King this morning. That was unexpected, but fun. Then he shot down to work pulling up just in time to watch the digital clock on his phone hit 8:00....
Fortunately none of the sneezing, sniffing, or snotting took place during the commute but now he's wishing he took two of those benadryls before leaping out of bed this morning.
Zyrtec does nothing.....
