- In response to: "Even if you aren't a chef, what's your favorite dish to prepare?" Spicy Besan (Chickpea Flour ) Pancakes. I like them folded with filling of tomatoes, onions, boiled fresh corn, fresh seasonal fruits, syrup (usually melted marmalade) with a pudina chutney.

- My Favorite Artist - Bill Watterson
-
Bill Watterson, the creator of the insanely brilliant comic strip 'Calvin and Hobbes' is an artist who elevated the comic strip to an art form.
His use of the limited newspaper space is very innovative and am always amazed by the artwork he manages to fill in those panels. I have been a fan of C&H for some time, but having a son of nearly the same age as calvin (4-5 years) really makes me appreciate the brilliance of the insights that Waterson put in to those panels.
couple of example of his beautiful artwork

- A Great way for Stargazing
-
As a kid i remember being surprised by the star filled sky.
I was maybe 12 years and had gone to my grandma's village in Northern India during my summer vacation. After the intense heat of the day, the night was pleasantly comforting and really dark. When i lied down on my bed which was put out in open on the flat roof top of our house, i was amazed by the amount of stars that had almost completely filled the moonless sky. Being a city dweller i had never ever witnessed such a spectacle.
well now a days i enjoy stargazing with the aid of my 'google sky map' for mobile. It is much more enlightening, but nothing comes close to the experience of being dazzled by the spectacle of that fond memory.

- I want to Scuba dive.
-
There is something to be said for a person who goes where no man was intended. For thousands of years people have been intrigued by the world under water. There is something inherently exciting of diving in the deep see. thats why i have always wanted to do scuba diving.
But the fact remains is that i have not even got myself to learn swimming. I guess i am just plain lazy.

- First Gadget i fell in love with
-
The first digital camera i bought was in year 2005, a mere 3.2 megapixel Casio EX-S100. The price of INR 25,000 was very high price by any standard at that time. I guess i was sold by the tag line 'The World's Smallest Digital Camera With Optical Zoom' and shelled out my entire joining bonus from my new job.
Truly the Casio EX-S100 was small, i mean very small, i could carry it around in my jeans front pocket all the time. And thats what i really liked about it, i was clicking snaps all the time and enjoying every bit of it. It captured moments of my newborn kid, it was with us for all of our family excursions in and around Bangalore.
It was on one of such trips to Coorg that i realized that all the snaps are some what out of focus. and that when i realized that the lense is not retracting back properly in the camera chassis. I knew it was the end of it when the service person confirmed that the lense assembly will need to be replaced and the cost will be worth more that the new cameras then available on the market.
after that i have bought more capable cameras but i still miss the ever-pocket able Casio Ex-S100.
