I've always been turning into my father.
From the time I was young people would always say I looked exactly like him. I know, a lot of people get this, but I have semi-scientific proof.
About high school time I took my third grade picture and my dad's third grade picture and showed them to people. They couldn't tell which was which.
Once in high school a middle aged woman came up to me and asked, "are you Scott King's son?". She hadn't seen him for 20 years.
So yeah, I'm turning into a carbon copy of my father. Especially the bald part.

Pizza. It's always pizza.
I haven't met many pizzas I didn't like. Cheap and frozen or expensive and handmade, they always make me feel good.

- My trip from kansas city, mo to san francisco, ca
-
I was moving from Kansas City to San Francisco for grad school.
The route shown here is the shortest route, but we couldn't take it due to weather. Just before we (my dad and I) were about to leave, a huge snowstorm came down over the rockies, making the northern route all but impassible.
Instead we had to take the southern route– through Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona.
This route took us conveniently close to Las Vegas. And, you know, we needed a place to stop for the night anyway, so why not Vegas.
This is the essence of a road trip: you have an end in mind— somewhere you'd like to get to eventually — but everything in between is up for improvisation. Take a different route? Sure. Stop in Vegas? Um, yes. Sleep in one day and not make as much progress? Sometimes.
[Note: this was written while seated in the passenger seat of a car on its way to Tahoe. Feel free to favorite it just because of my dedication to method plinking.]

- A day without a cell phone would be great
-
Actually, I don't think its that awful. I try to get a few days of total-disconnection each year. Usually this involves hiking out into the wild until I'm a few days (by foot) away from any communication technology.
After about 2 days I find that my mind is clear, I'm relaxed and very happy. The worries of day-to-day finally disappear.

- When I started using the Internet we had to carry the floppy disks uphill both directions.

I started on AOL back in the days before that was part of the rest of the Internet. I think it was about '93 and we only had a computer (Mac LC III) because my mom was a teacher and got a big discount.
I didn't see much use in the AOL thing, especially since I didn't really want to talk to strangers ("a/s/l?") and I didn't know anyone else online. If I remember correctly, I just spent my computer time playing SimCity.
