        I believe it was about ten years ago, maybe a little more...we had an enormous grey box of a thing which came free from whoknowswhere and it sat, for some time, in the middle of our dining table. One of the many wonders of the evolution of computing is that they are now so darn pretty.

        Who knows what I actually used it for! I was free to shop whenever I needed to, I read an actual paper and I used to see my friends everyday in the park where we would go with our babies - we had no need to keep in touch because we were in touch.

        I no longer see my friends every day in the park but somehow we don't really seem to email either...
