This is the first book in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series. I have read many books in my day but this series the the most finely crafted and engaging saga that I have ever read. I have been waiting for the next one for years and am currently thinking of tracking down George RR Martin and making him finish "Misery" style.

Some Yogurt (probably Strawberry/Banana)
I cannot even imagine what kind of terrible publicity snafu that would have occurred to have led Martha to my door. In any case it would have to be something out of both of our control and neither one of us would be happy about it. If she actually still had the stomach for eating after walking into my living room I would probably grab her a yogurt from my fridge as I know that I just bought them. They are one of the few items in my fridge that I wouldn't have to figure out what day it was, to get past those fancy "expiration dates". I would also wash her up a plastic spoon in honor of the occassion.

Velvetta Shells N' Cheese/Totino's Hamburger Pizza Hybrid
While Martha glanced suspiciously at her spoon and looked around the living room in disgust/amazement. I would hastily put on a pot of water to boil and throw a Totino's frozen hamburger pizza in the oven. I would probably waver between selecting Kraft Mac and Cheese with the powder or the Velvetta Shell's N Cheese with the delectable cheese sauce packet. On one hand it's not every day that you have a rich, famous person show up at your house for dinner on the other it IS Martha Stewart. My sense of honor and pride would probably win out though and I'd go with the better quality Velvetta. While these were cooking I'd offer her a refreshing Fanta soda to drink and whet her appetite. During this time I would try to engage her in conversation about topics that I wouldn't sound so stupid in. After a few minutes of awkward exchanges involving video games and napkins, the food would be ready. I would take the Shells N' Cheese and spread it out evenly on the pizza. I would place this on the good Chinet plates because their better durability. As Martha surely knows, it's the little things that count. I would tell her that it was an ancient family recipe but that I don't know what country/region/continent its from.

Half of my frozen Snickers Bar
After our dinner I would offer Martha half of my frozen Snickers bar for dessert. I'd like to be able to give her the whole thing but I ate the other half about two hours ago. I'm sure she would appreciate this simple gesture of goodwill though.
