- Where to next?
-
Yes! I have been living away from Canada for over 9 years now! I graduated university, took off to Australia for "eight months"...and wound up in Taiwan for the past 7 years after a "stopover" on the way home! I've been to many countries in between! Clearly I strayed from my original plan, but what an incredibly and life changing experience this has all been! Now the question is: Where to next?

- Middle Indiana
-
My middle name is Indiana. I used to be embarrassed about it growing up, because it isn't very common. At least it wasn't common amongst people I knew. Now I have grown to love it and embrace it!
I was named after author George Sand's "Indiana". I love the story behind how I got this name, as much as I now love my name. It's part of who I am! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Sand

- My Best Self
-
I feel at my best after a very good sleep, a day in the ocean, an evening of romance, or while performing on stage, and being totally and completely at ease with myself. I am my best when I am doing exactly what I want to be doing and am not worried about what anyone else thinks.

- You Never Know What's Around the Corner; It's Better That Way

If given the chance would I like to know what happens in the future? No.
I used to think that I would. If one could prepare for what was to come, then that would be preferable. I now don't think this is beneficial for either good or bad situations.
One needs to dream, live, learn, imagine, experience hope and fear, endure life's ups and downs. All of these senses are important for growth and development, for strength.
Knowing what will happen will remove all excitement and surprise.
I also believe we have some control over changing our destiny in some way. We are able to shape it and mold it in a direction that we would like to see it go. Like driving a car or riding a bicycle, you can decide to make a right or left turn or you can decide to stop, or soldier on ahead. We need to face these decisions, we need to take on these challenges and face difficult situations from time to time, as well as experience bliss!
If everything is mapped out and planned, and you know each and every step of the way, you are not living, and that is not life.

- Up with the Sun
-
Sunrise. There is something magical about being up before the sun and witnessing the birth of the day. Because seeing the sun rise is not something I am able to do on a regular basis, it feels like when it does happen, I'm part of a privileged and elite group. It sort of allows you to have a special secret that only you know, or those you've been lucky enough to share it with. Some memorable sunrises for me included reaching the summit on Mount Kota Kinabalu and and a few special ones on a beach in Thailand.
Having the right company sure also helps, even if that means you are your own company!
