    • New Skills = Homebrewing
      • homebrew

My new skill for this year is homebrewing! I've been officially hooked on beer making since January. It was a lot to learn but now I've got it down to the point where we no longer need to purchase beer from the grocery store. I've also learned a lot about modifying appliances, freezers, C02 tanks, etc., to be able to serve our beer from a keg. It's my new hobby and it is loads of fun!

    • Southeast by West
      • Florida 2008

I'm a Southern California native but have been living in the south-eastern U.S. for the last 10-years. I've found the people in the southeast to be much friendlier than they are on the west coast. People here (generally speaking) are warm, polite, and welcoming. Must be that southern hospitality thing. Out west it seemed everyone was only looking out for themselves (generally speaking) and they weren't very approachable. I haven't seen any road-rage here but in California it was a regular thing. California does have the best Chinese and Mexican food though !

    • Toy Fads From My Childhood Days

Really bad (yet addictive) video games for the Atari 2600. Model airplanes that actually flew using gas powered engines. (you can't find these in any toy store these days... now all they sell are wimpy toys!) Star Wars light sabers that lit up were essential for late night battles with my little brother. Toy rockets propelled with jets of pressurized water. Plastic soldiers with parachutes that we would shoot into the air with slingshots... and of course they would get stuck in a tree or on the roof.

The list can go on and on but I think I've exposed myself as a nerd sufficiently.
