- There's a Fly on the Wall, on the Wall.
-
Oh my. This is such a loaded question for me. I'm always saying how I'd love to be a fly on the wall in so many situations. Most of them involve my children and what they do when they are out of my sight. Can someone say "control freak"? I love people watching, and I often find myself imagining the lives of those around me. I will make up a entire backstory for people sometimes.
Yes, I might be a little on the crazy side with too much time on my hands.
But to be a fly on the wall at my own funeral makes me very uncomfortable.
First of all, if I am dead to this world, that means I'm alive with Jesus. (insert Big WOOHOO! here) And, honestly, who wants to leave Jesus to see what people are saying about them on earth? I mean, I'm with Jesus. Who cares what they think about me?
But I understand that isn't the purpose behind this prompt. I do care about the legacy I'm leaving for my children and the world in general. I want my life to count for more than just the ordinary. I want to know that I have made a difference. That I have impacted the lives around me.
I DO NOT want people to say what a GREAT person I was. I am serious. If people are saying what a GREAT person I am, then I have completely missed the mark in what I've been called to do. I want people to look at my life and say, "Look at GOD and what HE did in this life. Isn't HE so stinkin' awesome?"
In fact, maybe they should put that on my gravestone: God is so stinkin' AWESOME, and this life proved it.
That would make this life all worth it.

- What I Like Most About My Job
-
I'm afraid that I'm going to set myself apart at the start of this Plinky adventure as the Great Anti-Answerer. It's a bad habit I have. I read a writing prompt much like this one, and I automatically begin twisting it around in my head and making it my own.
What do I like most about my job, you ask? Maybe the fact that I don't actually have a "real" job is what I like most. I don't have a "real" job, and yet I'm busier than I have been in well, a long long time. I'm taking two summer classes which will end a week from this Thursday (Thank YOU, Jesus.). It's running me smooth over. I haven't been in school over the past 7-8 years, so maybe taking TWO summer classes (where all the information for 4 months is smashed into 4 weeks) wasn't the best way to "get my feet wet". Rather than dipping my toes into a smooth cool pool, I feel as if I've been caught in the crossfires of Hurricane Katrina. I'm doing my best to stay afloat. On the plus side, I've not made a grade lower than a 94, and my Macroeconomics average, as of now, is a 99. That makes me happy.
So what do I like most about my "job"? The fact that I'll have a 5 week break come next Thursday. That's what I like.
