    • of my favourite kenyan-belgian couple...
      • i met ken through ali. i remember the first time i met him, we went to some african festival thingo at vic park. it was summer and ken was wearin' his trademark basketball jersey. the next day, ali, ken, brice and i took off on a roadtrip. despite havin' known ken and brice for only a day, the roadtrip was absolute fun.

over time, ken was just helpful to me and my many nonsensical situations. he was always ready to lend me his car when i didn't a ride, drive me places and just makin' me smile. i was a tad jealous when he got himself a girl, maria. i was afraid that my role of bein' THE girl in the roadtrip gang was no longer special. but thank God, i was wrong. maria was so lovely to me and she was so sweet and the best thing that happened to ken. the sacrifices the both of them made for each other, in order to stay together, was and still is admirable.

maria's from belgium, and eventually, ken moved back there with her. the sweetest couple i know and the most dedicated to their relationship. they are now married and has the most adorable lil girl, jade.

even though they are so many hours away from me, ken never fails to say hi on msn every now and again to check up on me. things are goin' well with them and i hope it continues for many, many years to come. i hope to see ken, maria and lil jade soon. i owe them so much for my sanity and i pray i can show them my gratitude before i die.

    • of a photo smile...
      • this photo was taken a couple of months before we got married. it was valentine's day. we wanted to spend a day together and just so happen it was valentine's day. we didn't celebrate this hallmark holiday though. so the plan was to go to the beach. and as we were lookin' for a spot to settle ourselves for the arvo, i asked if he could carry my bag and he did. and this picture reminds me of how much he loves me. and i hope he knows i love him, care for him and appreciate him. and without fail, i smile. a smile on my face, and a smile in my heart.

    • of breakfast ideals...
      • yummy bread + yummy butter
i cant remember the names of the breads and the brand of butter that i like to eat bread with but seriously....those different types of wheat bread and that particular butter makes eatin' bread so enjoyable. and no, i'm not talkin' bout gardenia, coz that is so good you can even eat it on its own. :p ok corny...

        scrambled eggs
scrambled eggs are a must to add to a good breakfast plate. but it must be made properly with some salt, pepper and just enough amount of milk when bein' beaten together. that will make the scrambled eggs fluffy. i learnt this durin' my rocky masters days.

        baked beans
not a lot of people like them but i do. and when eatin' on bread and don't forget some eggs on top...it's a great combo! but the baked beans cannot be too over cooked or undercooked. very often you will find overcooked baked beans, especially on buffet lines. those ones, not so shiok. but i'd take them over undercooked baked beans!

        hash browns
i love potatoes. and fried potatoes are the best! hehehe hash browns are awesome to have in the mornings. and by far, mcdonald's makes the best has browns ever! don't forget the chilli sauce!

        apple juice
gotta have juice with breakfast food! mmmmm juice. not really a fan of orange juice so it's always apple juice for me. sometimes, if the mood is right, i'd go for pineapple. yes, that early in the mornin'.

      • job
growin' up, i never thought that i would ever be without a job. such a thing would never happen to me coz' i was doin' everythin' right. until...

the previous company, un-named for now, went through a rough patch. and that rough patch got bigger and bigger that i was not drawin' salary for over a year. i survived on the couple of hundred they gave every now and then and most importantly, my savings. in that space of a year, i even got married and picked up a new hobby - paintball.

when enough was enough, i quit, without another job to go to. and i have to say, it was a very scary time but i was tired from commuting to a place that wasn't payin' me, there wasn't much work and well...the management was tryin' to get rid of me coz' i was too expensive.

took me 2 months before i found my current job. i took a HUGE paycut but hey...a job that pays is better than one that doesn't. God willin', i will make up the difference in pay in no time. after all, life is not always bout money. but it sure damn helps!

        the boy
few years ago, if someone was to tell me i would marry the boy, i'd laugh. i was never into a malay boy. no wait. i lied. i did date one malay boy. longest relationship i had even. :p

but yeah...my choices in boyfriends have leaned more towards the caucasians. i think it's coz' they are more acceptin' to my weirdness. so to end up marryin' the boy and decidin' to do it in such a short time, i am still surprised.

God had a plan. he took away the one thing that mattered to me a great deal and he gave me a replacement. a worthy one too. coz the boy takes really good care of me. sure, he suxs at time (he's a guy afterall) but at the end of the day...he's a good person. and to have someone accept all my flaws, and i have big, important ones at that, i am grateful.

        iphone 4
so i said i would never be a mac. i was made to use a mac os once at work and i hated it. hated it to the core. i am truly, a microsoft. however.....the iphone is a great invention. the number of games available...omg. i would steal the boy's iphone many a times to play the many games he had already downloaded to the phone.

so when the iphone 4 was released here in Singapore, i went for it. it also helped that my contract had finished and singtel gave me a $100 voucher to sign up for another contract.

finally..no more switchin' sim cards in order to surf from my phone. i am constantly on twitter and facebook. addict, i know. and most importantly, i have so many games to play!! yay!! current obsession is mega jump. i blame rooz for this. but the game is sooooo addictive and fun. took me almost a week to unlock stage 2. now i'm at stage 7 and stuck. boo!

        much love,
