    • Dude! I Love Slang
      • Dude wheres my car?

"Night Dude"... "love ya dude", "DUDE...get OUT OF THE SHOWER!" "DUDE your room is a mess"
I think that slang word started this last summer when my 12 yr old son and his friends were in the pool. I swear that every sentence started with DUDE. "DUDE, watch this." "DUDE i can do ______" "I'm getting out DUDE."
So much that I counted 9 "DUDES" in less than 5 minutes. So for the remainder of that day and actually since then, I do alot of "DUDE-ING".

        Later Dude.

    • My Gift Wish List
      • Ivy's List to Santa

It is usually very hard for me to tell anyone what I "want" I pretty much have anything I need, and want, within reason. This year I have a list, a strangely large list of very...variant things.
A laptop computer would be nice. A food processor, new mixer, wine glasses ( tho I have used the ONE I have maybe twice in 20 yrs). Kid Rock concert tickets. I would gladly give all my wishes up if I could get my husband a new tv, carpeting for the whole house, or take a vacation.

I sure hope Santa has a Plinky.com site.

    • Best Compliment I've Gotten In a While
      • Sign in our sitting room: LOVE Makes A Family

Interesting since I just received it last night.
After spending one, if not the last days with my mother in law on earth, last night while hubby and I were talking before bed he gave me this compliment: "You have the most tender heart and the the most inner strength of any human I know." I can't help but cry when I think of him losing his mom, and think of the hard life they have all had...and how it could have been so much easier for them all. Now time just slips away and she is sliding out gracefully, with dignity and peace. Still I put myself in those shoes, we all know that time will come and we will in some way be saying the same sort of goodbyes, and remembering the fun, happy times together. The strength part.. the part he saw in me, was minor compared to what I see in him, what I see in his sister Irene, her day to day care of her mom...so tender, like caring for a child. She is totally selfless in her care. I felt honored to be able to help her for a few short moments, just sharing in what she does on a 24/7 basis with her mother. I can't hardly call that inner strength..mosly just humanity, love and respect for someone who gave me her wonderful son.

    • My Greatest Achievement
      • Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments - Jim Rohn

I think most parents would say that thier children are thier greatest achievement, the same stands true for me. I had/have great parents, had a normal upbringing. I think I made poor decisions as a young adult ( don't we all?) I married TOO young, and didn't ever listen to my innerself or trust myself enough to make decisions best for ME.
I believe when you are a parent, any decision made in your best interest is also for your childrens best interest. Freeing myself from what I now see was an abusive relationship, was in the best interest of my children and led to what I feel is my best personal achievement, CONFIDENCE.

Jes, Aimee and Jason are just the icing on my confidence cake. :)
