    • NYE in San Francisco. 3 hours late and a dollar short.

      • I was desperate to see the Mars Volta, but I couldn't convince anyone to go with me. It was touted as a costume party, and I went as a disco ball, though less round.

        The concert was amazing. The one person I was supposed to meet up with ditched me immediately. Then I got calls at 9pm from the east coast hearing droves of my favorite people spending their night together. And then someone decided to have a chat with me about an ex-boyfriend that I wasn't speaking to. Which, surprisingly enough, reinforced how alone I was. And the entire night I was not talked to by a single person. Whatsoever. Except for two pickup attempts en route.

      • i figured.

        making a lot of excuses. mostly finding pleasure in little things so i would be distracted from the disappointments of the larger things.

        but the disappointments of the larger things have grown to the point that they, instead, are my life containing little pleasures rather than my life of little pleasures crowning a series of larger disappointments.

        that is how.

        literally - i've got a crescent shaped burn on my left forearm. aside from this, i always let matches burn down to the tips.
        whatever - you either die or you keep on burning alive.
