When I need creative inspiration I generally go to the place that is most like the story I wish to write. The park, the ocean, Asheville NC, and even my own room provide unlimited amounts. Colorful objects, exotic smells, and sound. Sensory details that inspire the mind to go to work. Most days I head over to Freedom Park, just sitting under a tree by the lake lets my mind wander and conspire as it will.

Do I believe in Fate? Well, here's a better question, what is Fate to me (or anybody else for that matter) and how does it psychologically define the various relationships and decisions we make in our lives? I believe Fate is perhaps more open to interpretation than it may first appear. It can be molded and shaped, just like any other external power we believe may be controlling our existence. It is an opinion, and as such, it only has as much control as we give it, even if Fate did happen to be pulling the strings our every move, should one choose not to believe in it's intervention, how much control does it really have. Now personally, I think that's a rather ignorant standpoint, just because you cannot see it, doesn't mean it isn't controlling your life. To think otherwise is foolish. However, I, being a strong believer in rather benevolent Fates, have a somewhat different standpoint on the issue. I do believe in Fate, in fact, I relish the idea of the cosmos aligning to bring me soul-mate, new job, or perhaps grievous peril into my rather mundane existence. It gives me a sense of adventure, I don't know what's coming, but I do know it's going to be awesome. Fate gave me many things, I would say I chose them myself, but half of them I had little to no control over. Like the fact that I was adopted into a loving family, that taught me the joys of reading and writing, or the cleft palette and various other ailments that have plagued me the past 20 years of my existence. I have not had a perfect life, but I believe the Fates gave me a balance. The good with the bad. That is a a good life, one you can learn from, one that teaches you the hardships of the world with the joys. Recently I came into a new love, after having painfully lost the man I intended to spend the rest of my life with a mere two years ago. Some would say it is too soon, but I am not one to fall easily, and the cacophony of emotions that churn inside of me when I so much as think of him is a far better indicator of my feelings than my over-rational, worrisome brain. You ask me do I believe in Fate. You ask me do I hand my life over to something I can neither see nor touch, and my answer is a whole-hearted Yes. Yes, I do, and I will stand by that for as long as it feels right to me.

Starry Night by Van Gogh (also a jigsaw puzzle )
I would have to say, If I had to choose one, my favorite work of art is the painting "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh. It is a rather popular painting in general i believe, quite well known. What really strikes my fancy though is the perspective in which he painted it in. Most paintings I have observed have the sky in equal proportion to the land, if not slightly less so, in "Starry Night" the small city is vastly dwarfed by the swirling heavens above it. It gives one pause, to think how small and truly insignificant we all are in this universe. It is an odd comfort to me to know I am but an infinitesimal part in the grand scheme of things.

I am an Aries, I am a Pisces, I am something all my own.
Aries Zodiac Sign Vector Image
I am an Aries woman born right on the cusp of Pisces and Aries. (March 21, at approx. 3:00 a.m.) I exhibit most of the typical Aries traits, courageous, impatient, quick to anger and adventurous; however, I also show signs of my Pisces origin as well, old-soul, reserved, listener, duality. I am both the youngest and the oldest sign in the Zodiac. Complete opposites in virtually every way. Aries and Pisces reside in me as Yin and Yang, they harmonize me, and I feel I am deeply blessed to be a child of these two signs in particular. The impact this dual lineage has had on my life is tremendous, I can see things in ways others don't, I have both an innate knowledge of the workings of the Universe and an unquenchable thirst to learn more. I can be both extroverted and quietly reserved. The duality in my personality is clearly visible and for a good while doctors mistook it for Bi-polar disorder. An easy mistake to make when you think only with your mind and don't delve into the deeper means of things. I would like to study my dual zodiac signs in more depth in the near future, I believe they hold a key to realizing who I truly am, a question I've been asking myself for awhile.
