seeing my friends
Although I certainly see the value in sitting alone on my couch in just basketball shorts (if it's summer) or sweatpants (should it be winter) drinking wine every now and then, my day is so much better if I saw my friends.

learn something new
Whether it's some cool scientific fact (like when I learned that cat's meows manipulate us because they're in the same frequency as babies' cries which appeal to our innate parental instincts) or something about someone (like that someone I know also has an irrational fear of white condiments).

find myself attractive
Most days I look in the mirror and I can find some sort of flaw with how I look and then I move along, but every now and then my hair looks just right, my outfit is cute, and I feel confident.

What could be better than an urban metropolitan area right next to a temperate rain forest? Oceans, trees, mountains mixed with all the modern trappings or urbanity--sounds like a good deal to me.
