    • A haiku about 7 Pounds
      • I think I'm giving away the ending, if you haven't watched this do not go further. 7 Pounds is too involved of a movie to try to write a simple haiku about, but that's the last movie I saw.

    • Keeping in touch from Omaha, NE to Iraq
      • In 2007, I was re-united with my now husband. We had dated and lived together before from 2000-2004, but broke up and went our separate ways for 3 years, not ever hearing from eachother. Then after a divorce and a move for me. I was on myspace and got a whim to look him up, sure enough he had a profile but no photos and hadn't logged in some time. He had one friend on there, a soldier in Iraq. So I contacted his friend, and my now dh was stationed in Iraq with him.

We stayed in touch through email. That was all we had. Every couple weeks I'd get a crackly, short, echoing phone call. Emails usually arrived about once every 24 to once every 48 hours. There were times I did not get an email for several days. I emailed him much like a journal telling him the happenings of my day. I also sent at least one photo via email per day and he sent me a photo once and awhile when he could. I sent two to three packages a week. He was unable to mail packages.

It did not start out romantic but it ended up that way, we basically made it work by being patient and kind to eachother...making plans for the future. And always giving reassurance and hope to eachother.

    • My favorite line from 'Hamburger Hill'
      • Hamburger Hill is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I could watch that movie over and over and I have before. I bought this movie when I was in the Army and being discharged for medical reasons and bought a portable DVD player at the same time.

        Sgt. Frantz: Who is it?
Doc: How the hell do I know? He's got no goddamn head.
