    • My Favorite Things to Photograph
      • I do not like pictures!! Let that be the first thing I say, I do not like pictures of myself because I always thought I wasn't photogenic, but ever since I started blogging, I appreciate the value of visuals and and framed memories. I have therefore I have learned to love taking pictures of things I always want to have memories of and that's always the fun and the funny moments.

I love taking pictures of funny signs, and I think they are my favorite things to Photograph. I love word humor and some of these signs were simply designed for comic relief. I believe that part of the road traffic act must include a portion where the state is required to provide humor for motorists in order to prevent stress while driving and relieve tension when in a traffic jam, because why else would they come up with some of these signs.

Then if you've ever used a public restroom then you know that some of these signs are just too good to pass up. I believe someone realized that if you wanted people to breathe easier in these smelly toilets, if they start laughing they'll forget how smelly it is, thus not hold their breath for too long and thus avoid the death by restroom that has brought too many lawsuits to these fuel stations. The public restroom fraternity must be commended for this ingenious idea!!

Then whoever started with signs that are images instead of words had no idea how useful this would be to the city councils that were too cheap to provide proper healthcare. They took it literally when they say laughter is the best medicine, such that they felt by putting up the weirdest signs they could come up with at pedestrians crossings, rail crossings and at the entry and exits of the city limits they figured they'd create a healthier community. This plan was also fail safe because if the laughter didn't keep the townspeople healthy, they'd die in road traffic accidents and no-one would figure out how bad the health care system actually was. Whoever designs their signs is truly a genius!!!

I shall not get into signs in foreign languages that are translated into English because it is possible that some countries have no access to Google translate and that the Chinese have developed an imitation dictionary since they are good at imitating everything else. I won't even bother tackling the handmade signs you find in schools, and how they reflect on the people we entrust to teach our children.

Pictures immortalize, and what better things to immortalize than the things that make us laugh, love and live

    • What's Worth Waiting in Long Lines
      • Liquid Nightclub, Ipswich

In my country we went through a tough time when you literally had to queue up for everything. When I say everything I do mean everything from money, to food, clothes, medication, transport, to pay bills......the list will be too long but for literally everything, including funerals. So we became professional queue-rs, and thus I can queue for just about anything as long as i want it, but in terms of what is truly worth the wait.......well I think I'd choose queuing to get into a concert.

the wait is more than you can handle, and time seems to be moving slower than ever and the ticket collectors inept, but the excitement cannot be extinguished. when you have a whole group of people excited about the same thing, loud music from the curtain raisers and the feeling of anticipation nothing short of riot police and tear gas can remove the euphoria, and even then, that only pumps the adrenalin faster. Nothing can take that feeling away, even the long queue and irate gate attendants, so that would be worth it because of the promise of exhilaration, and the fact that the wait is a part of the experience.

the only other two things I'd consider worth queuing up for is the chance to greet the main act of the concert, and for chocolate which is my vice!!

    • Foot-in-Mouth with a Vengence
      • oh my god

well, I'm in a place where i'm kinda Love-sick, and I feel like throwimg up, so this is the best story for me to tell right now.

2 weeks ago I went to my cousins concert and as usual I was my usual crazy self. so when I saw an old friend and his other friend I got excited and we got to chatting. then when I turned around to share yet another random thought with him, I saw a mutula friend who was dating my friend so I went on to ask about my friend and why she wasn't here and all sorts of things. 5 minutes later the girl next to him got up and left and then he asked me...."how can you be asking me about my ex in front of my new girlfriend!!"

I must admit the shock of their breakup outshone the embarrassment so I managed to recover at that very moment but for the rest of the night, I coudn't help but feel ashamed and embarassed everytime I looked at him.

The beauty of it is I later found out (from my jilted friend) that he had broken it off a mere two and a half weeks before. this meant that either he recovered real quick, or he cheated. I believe he ceated, but then I always see the evil in mens hearts. Now I don't feel as embarassed, more like.........rightious. If I ruined his chances with this new girl then good, serves him right for what he did to my friend. So I consider my foot in mouth moment to have been the vengence of God!!!!!!!!!!!

    • In defense of my vice: chocolate
      • Chocolate

Shakespeare writes, "If music be the food of love, then play on..". These are the opening lines to one of his greatest plays wever and he was right in a way. The only difference is, CHOCOLATE is the food of love, or at least the literal food of love.

I love dark chocolate, that hint of bitter in the sweet, the flavor of the sacred bean that has throughout time been associated with love. Long ago it was mistaken for an aphrodiziac, but that was probably because of it's fast working release of endorphins. You see, when you eat chocolate, it makes you feel good. you don't even feel bad about being fat!! Seriously, even when I am wallowing in depression, chocolate makes me feel good about it, it won't take me out of it but it becomes sweet misery.

I may have problem my weight, and with depression, but i won't stop eating chocolate because it's my enabler drug. Whats the point of living life if you can't enjoy it. If i spend the next few months on a rigid painful diet and excercise regime and i constantly watch my weight worrying about every calorie I consume, then i'll just end up depressed. Then i'll be depressed about my depression falling even deeper into depression, thus self perpetuating. So why be miserable about the ugly?? I'll enjoy the ugly with the good and the Dark and life will be more bearable.
