i hadn't gotten completely sucked in, although i was enjoying it. i think i could do it now after reading all the stephenson books and knowing i could slog through it. there's a reward them somewhere.

- When I realized I was a grown-up

when i was allowed, after 20 years, to drive my parents cars again. i had had one too many car accidents and as a result, my parents had for a very long time a rider on their car insurance that i was not allowed to drive their cars. as a result of this, it wasn't until i was about 32 that the insurance company finally dropped this.
it was then that i realized, not everything from childhood lasts forever.

hellooooo -- mermaid, of course. although it's not really a wild animal, but more of a sentient being who happens to be half wild animal.
it would be a bit of a problem in my house, seeing as i don't have bathtub, so i may just have to go with sea monkeys instead.
or maybe it's an excuse to move.
