eggs over medium
It's not that easy to get eggs the way I like them - yolks runny, whites completely cooked (no gooeyness in the whites; that's disgusting!). But when they're done right, they're heavenly. Give me those and some buttery toast to dip into the yolks, and I'm having a great morning already.
hash browns
Crunchy, browned on the outside, soft on the inside hash browns. Home fries with seasonings are okay, but grated potatoes just fried up and covered in ketchup are better.

- Twin Lakes Beach: Now that's a body of water

My favorite beach in Santa Cruz is Twin Lakes. It's near the yacht harbor, so you get to see boats going in and out (that's why my son used to call it "the boat beach" when he was little), and it's got a lighthouse. It's on the east side of town, so it's sunnier and warmer than the ones on the west side, but not as crowded as Seabright Beach. It's also more laid back, less full of students.
