This year, I'm gonna travel more. At least if the world's end in 2012, I have seen more it before things get ugly.

I used to get by on 2 hours of sleep while cramming in college. Now, I need a minimum of 6 hours to be marginally competent.

I like the sound of a cat purring. It's calming. Like the pleasing hum of a gentle motor.

From my Ex: He got me hot soup and watched over me as I lie in bed woozy with the flu. After I got better, he told me it was at that moment he realized he wanted to take care of me forever.
From my Fiancé: Way back when we were still friends, he got me a potted Chrysanthemum for Valentines Day. It was red, lush and fed a dose of his own recipe of super rich earthworm poo fertilizer. I had a boyfriend back then and that was his way of giving me something special in the guise of a neutral and platonic gift. He asked me to name her and so I did. We called her Madeleine. She survived up to three full months. She perished after a failed transplant into a bigger pot. That was the longest I've ever kept a plant alive.

Björk, "It's Oh So Quiet" (1995)
When I'm super bummed (mostly about love) I turn up the volume and sing along to Bjork's it's Oh So Quiet. The video never fails to make me smile. I love it when Bjork dances with the mailbox. The big band Sinatra sound, the unabashed whimsy and Bjork's not so creepy silliness makes the song totally endearing. It takes a total talented nutter to cheer up a nut like me.
