    • Why I'm (Never) Going Digital

      • Doubtful. The main reason is the high price of e-books. e.g. On Amazon this morning I can buy the latest Iain M. Banks novel, Surface Matter for £9.48 in hardback. The price for the Kindle edition is £9.99! It should not cost more for the electronic version it should cost less - a lot less. At least with the hardback I have a physical product that I own; display on my bookshelves; have autographed by the author; give to charity to sell; or sell it myself. None of these apply to e-books.

        The only reason I might buy a digital device to read electronic material is for reading comics. But the same deal applies. Publishers have to be realistic about what they can charge for electronic versions compared to print versions.
