      • In response to: "Who are you?" I'm a 24-year-old Jersey girl with a boyfriend, a cockatiel, and mountain of yarn. I teach kids by day, and knit, spin, and play video games by night. Oh, and I like puppies. :)

    • In which bowl-diving makes an appearance.
      • Hahaha. One day at work, while checking my text messages secretly in the bathroom, my phone took a nosedive into the toilet. First I had to reach in and pull it out, which was bad enough, but then I was phoneless. I suffered through my second job and when I got home, we'd called the phone company to switch my service back to my old phone. My dad was hysterical on the phone with the Verizon guy.

"We need to switch back to this old phone." "..." "Well, the Samsung is currently out of commission." "..." "No, my daughter dropped it in the toilet." "..." "No, she's 24."

    • Learn it, live it, love it.
      • When I was in high school, I told my mom to tell me if she didn't like my boyfriend at the time. I felt it wasn't worth everyone being uncomfortable being around him if they didn't like him, and I figured if it was that big a deal, I would just break up with him. My mom shook her head, and said:

        Great Egret (Ardea alba), great-egret_MG_5189

"You need to make your own mistakes."

        Best. Advice. Ever.

    • How I'd spend $1,000
      • I wish I could be responsible and say I'd pay my student loans, but let's face it - $1,000 isn't going to make a dent in the $58,000 I present owe. So in that case, I would take it and apply it directly to my Disney trip - that would pay off more than half of it!

    • When I realized I was a grown-up
      • I think I'll know I'm an adult when I'm financially solvent. My biggest problem right now is that I live in my parents' house because I don't make enough money to live on my own and afford my loan payments, even with two jobs. When I'm gainfully employed, and I can afford all of my own expenses, debt and all, and can move back out into the real world - that's when I'll be an adult.
