    • Someone I Admire
      • Everyone has at least one person they look up to in their lives. I personally look up to several people. But one in particular, is Sophia Vargas*. I admire her very much because she is a very strong and inspirational woman. I have only met her a few times, but every time I have she has been very friendly and kind to me. She is a woman on my American Cancer Society Corona Relay for Life committee. She is in charge of the food for our upcoming event. One day we were talking and she told me she was hosting a blood drive. I told her I was too for my high school, and she explained that hers was on the day her daughter would have turned 21. Her daughter had died at the age of 16 after fighting a battle against Leukemia. She had been in remission for a year, but it had come back. I was so sad to hear this and gave her my sympathy. This was so powerful that I decided to attend her blood drive and help out. Since I could not donate, I spoke with her and her sister the day of the event. I donated money to Santiago High School's Swim Team, a team Sophia's daughter had been involved with. By the end of the day of the blood drive, there had been more than 80 units of blood collected. I am so proud of Sophia for all of her hard work and although her daughter passed away, she is still trying to prevent others from having the same outcome. She is one of my favorite people, and I admire her very much.

    • My Favorite Ways to Procrastinate
      • I have several favorite ways to procrastinate. I feel that procrastination is something that gets to me easier than most people. Of course, this is only the result of me feeling that I must be doing something always. For some people procrastination has a meaning of simply "being lazy". But for me, it is more of something that I choose not to prioritize about. I enjoy keeping busy in my life, but sometimes prefer certain things over another. And as a result, it becomes a challenge to finish projects I start. I get distracted easily and forget, so it will take me longer to find where I left off and continue to the finish line. But what I do the most that takes me away from what I was trying to focus on what I was planning to do is live by the moment. I do not prefer to pause what is going on in the present to do something less enjoyable. I often procrastinate by eating food, it is what I tend to do when I am stressed out. Other reoccurring procrastination methods include talking with my boyfriend, cleaning my room, taking baths, and playing video games. I find it easy to tell myself that I will be able to finish tasks on time, but when the time comes, I end up scrambling for the seconds.

    • How I'd Give Away $1 Million
      • If I was given a million dollars I would need a bit of time to think of what to do with it. Of course I would give it away, but to whom exactly? Firstly, I would donate a portion to my immediate family. Although they struggle hard everyday with financial hardships, they are still able to have me grow up in a good environment because they have perseverance. This is something I am very grateful of, if anyone has helped me out in this world, it would be them. I would also like to donate towards foundations that are similar to the ones I have volunteered for. This would include American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, beach clean up programs, educational programs, Human Rights Campaign, No H8 Campaign, United Nations World Food Program, Invisible Children, and many others. However, before jumping the gun, I would be sure to put lots of research into educating myself of where exactly my money would be going.

    • I've Been Robbed!
      • Have I ever had something stolen from me? Yes. Numerous times. I attended Black Friday last year, at a local shopping center and returned to the car to find that my iPod Touch I had placed in the glove box missing. It was devastating, iPod's are so expensive. They did not rummage through the car, or even take my earphones. But they sure did take the iPod. I had searched for days in the car to find it but it would not appear. I even had a tracking service on it for if it was stolen through what is known as iCloud. So as soon as I had the chance I went on my computer to locate the device. By this time, however, the memory had been cleared. It said there was no iPod under my name on iCloud. It was pretty upsetting, to lose something I used multiple times a day. Another time this happened was yesterday. I was at Victoria Gardens, visiting my boyfriend for a movie and lunch date. On the way there I had listened to music loud and with great reception. On the way back, I noticed it was really hard to get a clear signal for the music. Then by instinct, I decided to lean forward and check to see if the car's antenna was still there. It was gone. Why would someone steal the car's antenna? I don't know, but my six year old brother, in the back seat had quite an opinion. He suggested that they were "just probably poor".
